What is fat pad impingement 🤔

Inflammation 🔥of the fat pad in the knee can be a stand alone condition or can exist with other knee conditions such as 🦵🏽patellar tendinopathy or patellofemoral pain syndrome

What are the symptoms?
🔹Pain below the knee cap
🔹Aggravated by kneeling, repetitive bending, running
🔹Painful when you press on the knee

What can a Sports Medicine Physician do?
▪️Diagnostic ultrasound can be used to added inflammation or damage within the fat pad
▪️Ultrasound-Guided Hydrodissection (using a mixture of lidocaine, saline, and steroid to separate the inflamed fat pad from the tendon)

🟣You have heard me talk a lot about the amazing benefits of NAD+ lately, with the new specialty shot RENEW now on the menu. I get a lot of people asking if they can get this in supplemental form. Although there are products out there, the efficacy is not as robust as I would like.

🟢Direct supplementation of NAD+, or it’s precursor molecules NR or NMN, are often recommended in place of the injection. These can be helpful, but after digging into the research, the studies were clear in the approach of activating the genes that support your body utilizing NAD+ best. This is done with a special combination of low dose leucine paired with resveratrol and vitamin B6.
